Is lipstick too bold for high school?

I always prefer wearing lipstick over lip gloss for texture reasons ( too gloopy for me!) and for professional reasons (I think lipstick is more sophisticated). But I always wear it on the weekends because I can't make a decision to wear it to school. Would you consider it inappropriate, or too bold for high school?
