I shaved my head about a week ago and I was wondering how can I take care of it for healthy out comes?

I'm Ethiopian and I had a very soft and very thick hair. I have broken many combs over it. About nine years ago a colorox got in the middle of my head when I was trying to reach it on the top shelf in the laundary, you know the one you use for your clothing. I was young and I dindn't know so I didnt washed my hair after a week although my head was burning me like crazy. My hair in the middle shrink and became much rougher than the rest of my hair b/c that is where the colorox got dumped. I just decided to shave it off b/c is was so uneven and my hair in the middle had a whole diffrent texture and length. All of my family and friends was against it my hair is like an Indian hair if it wasn't damaged. Now I'm just wondering how I can treat my bald head for a better. I wear a wig unless I'm outside of my house and I always wash my hair. I also live in Boulder, Colorado which is a diffrent environment than Ethiopia so it might have an impact on my hair.
