My 9th month old does not like cereal with milk, baby food, etc.?

He stop eating solid foods for about a month due to teething and has refused cereal. I think he does not like the texture of the cereal. I have made it very thin, thicker, etc, but refuses to eat it now. He had nine month check has low iron count... any suggestions on food that are high in iron. I have tried him with finger foods such as puffs, but he spits them out...
