Does the Salt Lake Temple allow tourism?

You can visit inside an LDS Temple before it has been dedicated to the Lord. Before the dedication ceremony the Temple isn't a holy place yet so anyone can go in and tour during open house. This lasts for a relatively short amount of time, I looked up any Temple Open Houses and none are happening right now. So, the answer is no, you can't go inside unless it is an open house because it is a sacred and holy place after it has been dedicated.
