What is the situation of wireless internet in Mecca and Medina (Saudi Arabia)?

I am going to Haj (al-mofrada) pilgrimage to Mecca and Medina (Saudi Arabia) am staying in Mirage Taiba Hotel in Medina and Marjanah al-Aseel Hotel in Mecca. I am wondering if wifi (wireless) internet is easily available in these two cities? Do you recommend taking a laptop with me at all? thanks
